On Friday, March 24th, 10:30am-12:00pm, commemorating International Women’s Day in March, Itaewon Global Village Center will hold “The War and Women’s Human Rights Museum Tour.”
The War and Women’s Human Rights Museum was established to memorialize and educate the public about the history of Korea under the Japanese occupation. This museum particularly exhibits the hardships that the comfort women experienced, and works pertaining to the Japanese military sexual slavery issue. The museum is also active in addressing ongoing issues about sexual crimes in armed conflicts, and they stand in solidarity with the world in hopes of having a world free of war and violence against women.
The War and Women’s Human Rights Museum strives to create a better world for future generations by raising awareness about the history through various exhibitions and educational programs and recording ongoing activism for women, human rights, and peace.
