Chuseok Rice Cake Making Class

To celebrate Korean Thanksgiving (Chuseok), the Korean Food Promotion Institute and Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Chuseok Rice Cake Making Class” on Thursday, September 8th from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

Songpyeon(half-moon-shaped rice cake) is a traditional Korean food typically eaten during the Korean autumn harvest festival so-called ‘Chuseok’. Songpyeon is one of the most popular homemade Korean dishes for holidays. Songpyeon contains sweet or semi-sweet fillings, such as sesame seeds and honey, sweet red bean paste, or chestnut paste, all steamed over a layer of pine needles, which gives them the fragrant smell of fresh pine trees.

**FOOD ALLERGY WARNING: Basic ingredients that will be used in this class are as follows:
-batter: nonglutinous rice powder
-filling: sesame seeds, mung beans, sugar, honey, salt
