20250610_Global Culture Trip: Korean Traditional Games
Itaewon Global Village Center and Yongsan Senior Welfare Center will hold a special cultural exchange event, “Global Culture Trip: Korean Traditional Games”. Korean Grandmas and grandpas will teach you how to play traditional Korean games.

This class will be held at Hangang Park near Hannam station. The event is free of charge but registration is a must. Please note that since we will be interacting with Korean grandmas and grandpas, foreigners who can speak Korean is a priority.
This class is sponsored by Yongsan Senior Welfare Center so it is free of charge. All equipment, etc. will be prepared by YSWC.

20250611_YSWC English Conversations with the Elderly Volunteering
Itaewon Global Village Center will help out at the Yongsan Senior Welfare Center on June 11th (Wed) from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. We are looking for volunteers that can join us that day.
One of the programs of Yongsan Senior Welfare Center is an English class to help retired seniors practice their English language ability. Most of the seniors who are part of the class were professionals during their younger days, and most of them have a good command of the English language. However, as time passes and due to the lack of people they can converse with, most of them have forgotten how to use the language. Through this class, they aim to regain the confidence they used to have. By volunteering, you will be able to help them practice their English speaking skills. You don’t need to be a native English speaker to join. (BUT OF COURSE, THE ABILITY TO CONVERSE IN ENGLISH FLUENTLY IS REQUIRED.) Don’t worry if you cannot speak Korean. However, only foreign adults aged 18 years old and above can join this activity.

20250612_Korean Fried Chicken Cooking Class with Kyochon
Itaewon Global Village Center, together with Korean Food Promotion Institute and Kyochon Chicken, is hosting a Korean cooking class on June 12, 2025 (Thurs) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Hansik Space Eum (near Anguk Station). This time we will be customizing our own fried chicken using the different sauces that Kyochon Chiken, a known Korean fried chicken franchise enterprise in Korea.
Through this class, we will learn how to properly fry a chicken and different sauces that are used to make that unique Korean-style fried chicken. The sauces that we will be using are Kyochon series soy sauce, red sauce, honey sauce, corn sauce, and cheese truffle seasoning. To make it more memorable, we will also be tasting some makkeolli to pair with the fried chicken!
Manage your expectations - Since this class is done with Kyochon Chicken, most of the ingredients used will not be revealed to protect their business. So most of the questions regarding ingredients might not be answered.
NOTE: this class is only open to foreign adults (aged 19 and above)
FOOD ALLERGY WARNING: (*Please take note of these ingredients before signing-up for the class. Hansik Space Eum WILL NOT make any changes on the recipe.) The ingredients that will be used for this class is as follows: chicken (NOT halal certified), soybean, peach, wheat, egg, milk, rice, nuruk (Korean fermentation starter)
The participation fee for this class is 11,000 won. Advanced payment for the class is REQUIRED. I will email you all the details (including payment details) once you have completed the registration.

20250613&27_YSWC Cafeteria Volunteering
Itaewon Global Village Center is looking for volunteers to help out at Yongsan Senior Welfare Center. They need volunteers to help at their in-house kitchen on June 13th and 27th, 2025 (both Fridays) from 10:30AM to 1:00PM
Yongsan Senior Welfare Center is located in Hannam-dong, and they cater to Korean elderly where the elderly can congregate, participate in various activities, and unwind. The center is also home to a cafeteria where elderly folks have their lunch. They feed about 300-400 Korean grandmas & grandpas. They require assistance with food distribution, kitchen cleanup, and helping elderly people with mobility issues. Your assistance is needed because they lack the manpower to help out at the cafeteria.

Itaewon Global Village Center will hold “Leather Craft Class”

Itaewon Global Village Center will help at the Seodaemun Seniors’ English Club on June 19, 2025 (Thurs) from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. We are looking for volunteers that can join us that day.
Seniors attending Seodaemun Senior Welfare Center and are members of the Seodaemun Seniors’ English Club have requested Itaewon GVC to gather volunteers who can help them improve their English speaking skills and boost their confidence when speaking the English language. Hence, they are looking for 12-15 English-speaking volunteers.
By volunteering, you can help them practice their English speaking skills. You don’t need to be a native English speaker to join. 20250620_Preparation Class for Drivers' License Written Test
▶ Date: Friday June 20, 2025 1:00-5:00PM (4 hours)
▶ Venue: 4F Yongsan Police Station, Seoul
▶ Fee: Free of charge
▶ Contents: Education on the traffic safety regulations for the written test and the instruction on the process for achieving driver's license(a four-wheel-drive car). All the materials will be provided: book and copy of PowerPoint presentation
Please note that this is a session to prepare the written test of Korean driver’s license. We do not conduct test during the session.
Also, this session is NOT mandatory for achieving the written test but to help you get better understanding on the entire process for achieving Korean driver’s license and learn general traffic rules in Korea.
▶ Targets: Foreign residents who are/will be residing in Korea for at least 1 year and need to achieve driver's license for living.

20250624_따스한채움터 Homeless People Support Center Volunteering
Itaewon Global Village Center is looking for volunteers to help out at 따스한채움터 Homeless People Support Center. The volunteer days will be on June 24th (Tues) from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
따스한체움터 (Dasseuhan) offers free lunch and dinner to about 300-400 homeless people. They are managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Red Cross Korea. For this volunteer activity, volunteers will be divided into three groups:
1. Food distribution team - since this requires knowledge on Korean food culture and some Korean speaking, those who have done food distribution and those who speak Korean will be prioritized. 4 volunteers will be assigned to this team.
2. Serving team - 4 volunteers will be in charge of getting the food tray from the front line and serving them to the tables where the homeless people are seated.
3. Dishwashing team - food trays will be washed and volunteers will need to wipe the food trays (Korean language ability is not needed)

20250626_YOHIM Factory: Yongsan History Museum Tour & Stained Glass Art Class
Itaewon Global Village Center, together with Yongsan History Museum, will be hosting "YOHIM Factory: Yongsan History Museum Tour and Mini Stained Glass Art Making Class on June 26, 2025 (Thurs) from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Yongsan History Museum.
We will be touring around Yongsan History Museum to learn the history of the Railroad Hospital and then we will also be learning about Yongsan's History and Culture. After the tour, all participants will have the chance to make their own stained glass art.
Since this class is sponsored by Yongsan History Museum, this class is FREE OF CHARGE. Only 15 participants can join this class so GROUP REGISTRATION is NOT ALLOWED. If your friend/family wants to join, they will have to register separately. Also, this class is only open for FOREIGN ADULTS (18 years and above). Lastly, those who have joined last time will NOT be prioritized.
In line with this, please note that as a part of the museum's (as well as Itaewon GVC's) promotional activity, your pictures and videos may be used and posted in their social medial platforms. If this is something you are not comfortable with, please DO NOT register for this class.

20250627_Upcyled Tumbler Bag & Ornament Making Class
Itaewon Global Village Center will hold “Upcycled Tumbler Bag and Ornament Making Class”
◆ Date/Time: June 27, 2025 (Fri) from 2:00 – 4:00pm

Through this class, we will be learning how to make an eco-friendly craft: tumbler bag and ornament using the fabric scraps during production of socks. The tumbler bag will also have a handle (*size: 10cm in diameter / length adjustable according to your tumbler). It will be fun and meaningful activity as we get to make and design our own tumbler bag while reducing the use of plastic bag.
The participation fee is 10,000won for material fee. Payment should be made in advance. Specific details will be sent to you after we have received your registration.
