20241213_Bojagi Workshop II
On December 13th (Fri) from 2:00PM to 3:30PM, Itaewon Global Village Center will be hosting a Bojagi Art Workshop.
“Bojagi” actually refers to the fabrics that are used for wrapping. However, as time goes by the term “bojagi” has become synonymous to the traditional art of wrapping. In the old times, Koreans believed that keeping something wrapped protects the item from misfortune, and giving someone a wrapped present gives that person good luck or happiness.
Bojagi art is not only pretty but it is also a sustainable way of gift wrapping as we can reuse old fabrics again and again.
For this workshop, we will be learning how to do three basic bojagi knots: Dosirak, Jangmi, and Gungjung. Plus we will recreate those knots using a tiny box to make a garland. (Please see the poster for the pictures. NOTE: The fabric/materials (including colors) that will be used in the class may be different from the actual materials that will be used in the class)
The participation fee for this class is 20,000 won/ participant. Advance payment is required. I will email you all the details (including payment details) once you have completed the registration.
