A Healing Melody in Nature: Sogeum Class at Seoul Botanic Park

Itaewon Global Village Center, together with Seoul Botanic Park, is hosting a special sogeum (traditional Korean bamboo flute) class in a hanok surrounded by the natural charm of Seoul Botanic Park.

In this program, participants will learn to play the sogeum while finding inner stillness in the calm setting of a traditional Korean house. The sogeum is a small transverse bamboo flute with a clear, bright tone that has been part of Korean music for centuries. Its gentle sound pairs naturally with quiet breathing and mindful listening, making this a wonderful opportunity to experience Korean traditional music while taking a restful pause from city life.

The class is designed as a hands-on experience led by a professional instructor. Participants will begin with breathing meditation, learn the basics of playing the sogeum, and finish by performing the well-known Korean folk song 'Sae-ya, Sae-ya' together. Best of all, participants take their sogeum home to keep practicing.

Date: Thursday, October 29, 14:00–15:30
Capacity: 10 participants
Participation Fee: 10,000 Won
Location: Hanok at Seoul Botanic Park
Language of Instruction: Korean with English Interpretation

After the program, participants may enjoy free access to the Theme Garden and Greenhouse.

Please note that there is no water dispenser on site, so please bring bottled water if needed.
