20240911_Hanwoo Japchae Cooking Class

Korean Food Promotion and Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Hanwoo Japchae Cooking Class” on Wednesday, September 11th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

“Hanwoo” is a native cattle in Korea, and its meat is considered to be one of the rarest and most expensive beef in the world. Meanwhile, ‘japchae’ is a stir-fried noodle dish in Korea that has a lot of veggies and is usually mixed with marinated beef, and soy sauce-based sauce with a lot of sesame.

**FOOD ALLERGY WARNING: The basic ingredients that will be used in this class are as follows:
Korean beef (hanwoo), glass noodles (made of potato starch), oyster mushroom, golden oak mushroom, carrots, onions, chives, cooking oil, salt, black pepper, sesame oil, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame seeds

An instructor will demonstrate the step-by-step process of how to make the sauce, marinate the beef, and so on. After the demonstration, all participants will have the chance to make their hanwoo japchae. You don’t need to bring anything, everything, including a to-go box, apron, etc. will be prepared by the institution.

This class will be held near Anguk Station (Line 3). You will need to pay 11,000won of participation fee in advance. Once you register, specific details, including basic ingredients, etc. will be sent to you. To register, email us your name, nationality, and phone number.
