20250312_YSWC English Conversations with Seniors

Itaewon Global Village Center will help at the Yongsan Senior Welfare Center on March 12th (Wed) from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. We are looking for volunteers to join us that day.

One of the Yongsan Senior Welfare Center programs is an English class to help retired seniors practice their English language ability. Most of the seniors who are part of the class were professionals during their younger days, and most of them have a good command of the English language. However, as time passes and due to the lack of people they can converse with, most of them have forgotten how to use the language. Through this class, they aim to regain the confidence they used to have. By volunteering, you will be able to help them practice their English-speaking skills. You don’t need to be a native English speaker to join. (BUT OF COURSE, THE ABILITY TO CONVERSE IN ENGLISH FLUENTLY IS REQUIRED.) Don’t worry if you cannot speak Korean. However, only foreign adults aged 18 years old and above can join this activity.

ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT: YSWC Beginners' Class is also in need of volunteers who can help out during their class. Volunteers will be divided into 5 groups and they just need someone to read out books and phrases for the class, as well as to correct their pronunciation. English native speakers are requested to join this group.
