● Contents: Join Us for a Korean Traditional Craft Class: Bokjori (복조리)!
Join us for a special cultural experience celebrating Jeongwol Daeboreum (the First Full Moon of the Lunar Year), featuring a guided tour of the Korean Museum of Straw and Life followed by a hands-on bokjori-making workshop. A bokjori is a traditional Korean folk craft item symbolizing good fortune and abundance. In this class, participants will create their own bokjori using budeul (cattail), a natural material traditionally used in Korean folk crafts.
It is believed that hanging a handmade bokjori in your home brings luck and prosperity throughout the year. Combined with the museum tour, this program offers a meaningful opportunity to learn about Korea’s straw and grass crafts while celebrating the spirit of Jeongwol Daeboreum. It also makes a thoughtful and symbolic keepsake to take home.
